Websites are ubiquitous. Whether you're a large international corporation, a small LLC, a local non-profit or a little mom and pop business, you need a website. That said, website needs vary greatly. While a large corporation or even a small business may need a custom-designed website with extensive scripting and database driving it behind the scenes, a simple blog or shopping cart might be more appropriate for smaller business and individuals.

In the past, I've focused exclusively on developing custom-designed, database-driven websites and web applications using ColdFusion. These days however, there are a lot of blogging tools and Content Management Systems (CMS) that might be more appropriate solutions for smaller businesses. These options are often much cheaper and even more flexible in putting you in charge of updating your own website. They can seem daunting to set up if you're not technically inclined however. But options like WordPress and Joomla might be the perfect solution for your website needs.
